Introduction
The primary purpose of this website is to provide the GENOVA suite of computer programs and associated manuals for GENOVA, jGENOVA, urGENOVA, and mGENOVA. jGENOVA is a recently written JAVA version of GENOVA. The input and output for GENOVA and jGENOVA are basically identical, although there are a very small number of code corrections in jGENOVA. GENOVA was written in Fortran IV. urGENOVA and mGENOVA were written in ANSI C.
GENOVA and jGENOVA provide extensive output for generalizability analyses of balanced designs. urGENOVA is for unbalanced designs, and mGENOVA is for a selected set of multivariate generalizability designs. The GENOVA suite is closely coordinated with the following textbook:
Brennan, R. L. (2001). Generalizability theory. New York: Springer-Verlag.
All of these programs are freely available, and may be distributed freely to others. The authors have taken great care to ensure that results are correct, but the authors make no unqualified claim about the accuracy of results.
The GENOVA suite was originally made available (and still is available) on the CASMA website:
The CASMA website also contains a number of other computer programs for psychometric analyses. Many of these “other” programs are also provided on this website (i.e., BrennanCrickGENOVA.org). These programs (many of which have authors other than Brennan or Crick) are also freely available, and may be distributed freely. The authors of these “other” programs make no unqualified claim about the accuracy of results.
All programs are available for PCs; some are also available for Macs.
